The Girl Behind the Tweezers

Originally born and raised in Colorado I loved wearing stylish clothes and playing in make-up when I was little. As I got older I became really interested in things I could do to play around with my look. I remember when I first discovered eyeliner and started using mascara, I was amazed by how much of a difference it made. When I was in high school lash extensions weren't really popular but I found out about them because my brother's then-girlfriend just started doing them. I was shocked at the crazy difference it made. I naturally have a lot of lashes just not the length, but extensions provided that for me and I felt brand new. I quickly became obsessed with them. At the time I didn't even know what an esthetician was, but I began researching their scope of practice and I knew immediately that's exactly what I wanted to do. I wanted to be able to provide a service that made you feel like you just got a makeover, while still feeling and looking like yourself. And eyelash extensions do precisely that! I quit my job as a real estate agent assistant and dropped out of the online course I was taking to get my license.

I moved 5 hours away from home to be near a more advanced school. I remember doing my roommate’s (now sister-in-law) lashes on the chaise of our couch after I got off work. It would take me 6 hours to do a full set, and both of our backs would be killing us but I never stopped loving it. I know starting out I did not provide the lashes I do now but she remained supportive, and let me play in her lashes while I was learning this new service. She had the CURLIEST outer corners that would be so hard to lash and I would laugh about it to her while internally freaking out and panicking cause I could not for the life of me get a lash to stick. However, I loved the challenge and pushing myself to get better each time, and she couldn’t have been a more perfect guinea pig.

When I was in school, I was the "lash girl" in my class. All people booking for lashes would be coming to me. I started getting referrals and I started getting more confident. I graduated from school and became licensed shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic was in full swing. Then I moved out to Kansas City and started working at a local eyelash salon. I definitely always knew I wanted to end up in my own space but I was scared to take the training wheels off. This year in 2022 everything has fallen into place and I'm ecstatic to finally be able to spread my wings. I couldn't have accomplished this without the support from all of my amazing wonderful clients, friends, and family.
